Love of all things chocolate
Raspberry Chocolate Booms
Ingredients
1 chocolate boxed cake mix any type
Raspberries fresh or frozen
Powdered sugar
1 jar chocolate frosting your preference
Cooking supplies
9x13 cake pan
2 mixing bowls
Large cookie sheet
Parchment paper
Directions
Cook the box cake per box directions once a cake is cooked, let it thoroughly cool. After it cools, crumble the whole cake. Add three tablespoons of the chocolate frosting and mix it well. You will then take 1 to 2 tablespoons of the cake mix and put 1 raspberry in the middle and roll it into a ball. Then roll in powdered sugar and place on the parchment paper lined cookie sheet. Repeat until you have your desired amount of raspberry chocolate booms. If you use frozen raspberries they need to be defrosted. Both frozen and fresh raspberries need to sit in the fridge until you are ready to make the balls. It keeps them firmer. Make sure raspberries are dry to the touch. I like to roll mine in powdered sugar before I roll the balls around them.
This is a fun Holidays dessert that you can enjoy making with the kids. Because it doesn't really matter what they look like, they will taste amazing. The powdered sugar will hide all imperfections. Just remember it's the holidays. It's supposed to be about laughter, good times, family friends and yummy food.
